Weekly Specials
How to update the weekly specials on the marketing site.
The client provides files each week, we prep them, upload them, and schedule them for publication on marketofchoice.com. Two posts: standard (post 42047) and Medford (post 43994). If no Medford-specific set is provided, use the standard files for both.
Client-Provided Files
- Sales flyer (PDF)
- Sales spreadsheet (CSV, XLS, or XLSX)
- Typically a standard set plus a Medford-specific set
Files arrive via Basecamp.
Prepare Files
Clean up the spreadsheets
- Remove all rows before the header columns
- Remove the Dept column
- Remove all empty trailing columns
- If the file is XLS/XLSX, convert to CSV
Rename files
Follow the naming convention: {YYYY-MM-DD} MoC Weekly Specials{ - Medford}.{extension}

Upload to Issuu
Do this for each PDF.
Log in to Issuu
Go to issuu.com/signin. Credentials are in the shared password manager under "Issuu - MarketOfChoice".
Issuu has reCAPTCHA on login — this must be done in a real browser. Browser automation won't work.
Upload and publish
Upload each PDF. Fill in the title using the naming convention. Set visibility to Public. Click Publish.
Note: Issuu keeps the original upload slug even if you rename the title later.
Get the embed code
Navigate to Share > Embed. Check Remove Issuu branding. Copy the embed code.
Upload Files to WordPress
File uploads to ACF fields and the WP media library must be done in a real browser. The WP REST API is blocked by Cloudflare (error 1010) on the marketing site, and browser automation can't access local files for upload.
Open the Special post
Navigate to Specials > All Specials (edit.php?post_type=special). Edit Weekly Specials (post 42047).
Switch to the Upcoming tab
In the Specials metabox, click the Upcoming tab. This is where next week's content goes — no revision or scheduling needed.
Upload files and embed code

Save
Click Update to save. The upcoming content will be promoted to current automatically.
Repeat for Medford
Do the same for Weekly Specials – Medford (post 43994) using the Medford-specific files. If no Medford set was provided, use the standard files.
Notes
- The Specials custom post type is on marketofchoice.com (the marketing site), not reservations
- The specials page at
/specials/weekly/renders a table from the CSV and embeds the Issuu flipbook - Files uploaded via ACF file fields get CDN URLs at
static.marketofchoice.com - Medford sometimes gets a separate flyer; sometimes falls back to the standard version
- The vision-impaired spreadsheet (XLSX) is sometimes delayed by a day — adjust schedule accordingly
- MoC frequently sends corrected versions (sometimes 3x in one week) — just replace the files
