How to publish news posts on marketofchoice.com.
Newsroom posts live at marketofchoice.com/news/ and use the news custom post type. These are press releases, company announcements, awards, and community stories.
Post Types vs Categories
The News CPT has its own taxonomy:
- Categories — shared with regular posts (but scoped to news)
- Type — news-specific classification (
news_typetaxonomy)
Creating a News Post
Create the post
Navigate to Newsroom > Add New News in WP admin. Set the title and date.
Add content
News posts use Fusion Builder for layout. Most are simple single-column text with an optional hero image. Paste the provided copy and format as needed.
Set the featured image
Upload and set the featured image at 1200x925px (48:37 aspect ratio). This appears on the newsroom grid.
Assign taxonomies
- Set the Type taxonomy (press release, award, community, etc.)
- Add Categories if applicable
SEO and publish
- Set Yoast meta title and description
- Verify the slug
- Publish
Notes
- The newsroom index at
/news/displays posts in reverse chronological order - News posts don't appear in the main blog feed — they're a separate content stream
- Older news posts can be set to Draft if they contain outdated information, but generally news is left published as a historical record
